Rank your queue

How do I rank jobs by the factors I care about?

You are searching as your Data Scientist profile. A job in London is only worth your time if the employer can sponsor a visa, so sponsorship matters more to you than anything else, and how recently a job was posted does not matter at all. Next up orders your jobs by the factors you choose, in the order you put them.

Set what matters

  1. In the sidebar, open Next up.
  2. Under What matters, in order, use the arrows to move a factor up or down.
  3. Clear a factor's tick to stop using it. It moves to the bottom, greyed out. Tick it again to add it back at the end.

Portage saves each change at once and reorders the list. The order belongs to the profile, so each profile can have its own.

Next up with Sponsorship stated, or name on a sponsor register moved to the top and Posted this week unticked; the queue starts with Monzo and Spotify data science jobs tagged Sponsorship, Strong fit and Pre-fillable

How the order works

"Higher items always win." A job that meets your top factor comes before every job that does not, however many lower factors those meet. Among jobs that meet the same factors, the stronger fit comes first, then the newer posting.

Each job shows tags for the factors it meets, such as Sponsorship, Strong fit and Pre-fillable. The list holds open jobs you have not applied to, including tracked jobs you have not yet moved to Applied. It shows the first 100; the line above it gives the total.
