Sponsor registers

How do I check an employer on the UK and Dutch sponsor registers?

You are searching as your Data Scientist profile and Monzo has several data science roles in London. A UK Skilled Worker visa needs an employer with a sponsor licence, so you want to know whether Monzo holds one. Portage reads the official registers of licensed sponsors for the United Kingdom and the Netherlands, and lets you match an employer to its entry.

The registers Portage reads

CountryRegisterPublished by
United KingdomRegister of Worker and Temporary Worker licensed sponsorsUK Visas and Immigration (GOV.UK)
NetherlandsPublic register Work (recognised sponsors)Immigratie- en Naturalisatiedienst (IND)

Portage re-reads both every week. Open Countries and select the country to see how many employers are on its register, when Portage last read it, and a link to the register itself.

United Kingdom: matched open jobs by sponsorship, 31 sponsors visas, and 127,651 employers on the official register of licensed sponsors, read 20 Oct 2026, with a link to Register of licensed sponsors: workers

For other countries, What Portage doesn't know says that no official register is available, so no employer is known to be licensed.

Check an employer

  1. Open the employer. Select its name in a job's details, or open Employers and search under All employers.
  2. In Sponsorship and immigration, select Check the sponsor registers for this employer.
  3. Portage lists register entries with similar names, with the town or company number that tells them apart. Find the one that is this employer.
  4. Select This is the employer beside it.
Sponsorship and immigration for Monzo: Confirm only an entry you know is this employer, then register entries Monzo Bank Ltd (London), Monq Ltd, Mondi PLC and others, each with a This is the employer button

Confirm only an entry you know is this employer. Register names are legal names, so Monzo appears as Monzo Bank Ltd, and several unrelated companies can share part of a name. If nothing is close, Portage says "No register entry has a similar name."

Sponsorship and immigration for Monzo: Confirmed on the GB sponsor register, listed as Monzo Bank Ltd, Town/City London, read 20 Oct 2026, then counts of postings by sponsorship and quotes from Monzo postings
BadgeMeaning
Confirmed on the GB sponsor registerYour workspace confirmed this entry is the employer. Only a confirmed entry counts as a licence in eligibility checks
Name on the GB sponsor registerThe employer's name matches an entry exactly, but nobody has confirmed it is the same organisation

Under the badge, Portage gives the name as listed, the town or company number, the register and the date it was read, with a link to the source. Below that are counts of the employer's postings by what they say about sponsorship, and quotes from the postings that say it.

The confirmation belongs to your workspace. To undo it, check the registers again and select Remove beside the entry.

An employer with no register entry and no sponsorship wording shows "No sponsorship signal in its postings or on a register. Ask the employer."
